Logline: In a future where everyone is forced to conform for the good of society, criminals are banished to the lawless wastelands of the Arizona prison state. A loyal government agent is wrongfully accused of treason when his superior discovers he loves the same woman and he’s banished to Arizona where he discovers the government isn’t as benevolent as it appears.
Synopsis: In 2089, America is a very different place. Political correctness is the golden rule and Universal Fairness is the common goal. Failure and choice have been replaced by equality of outcome and uniformity. Young couples are no longer permitted to choose their marriage partners, but are matched through the Marriage Lottery - a "fairness" protocol set up to randomly assign life-mates.
The totalitarian regime intimidates using high-tech gadgets known as Commonators, which are surgically implanted into every human's forearm. The result of too many missteps is banishment from society or an all-but-certain death as a participant in the Wild West Show: a gladiator style contest symbolic of the lawlessness that existed prior to the modern-day social protections of society. The few that survive the Wild West Show are banished to Arizona, a maximum security prison state inhabited by those tough enough, mean enough, and brutal enough to have survived the gladiator contest. Truly, a wild, Wild West.
In spite of all this love flourishes. TROY, a national icon, and TAYLOR, his true love defy the Marriage Lottery as well as the young and ambitious LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR YALE who uses the system to his advantage. Taylor is banished to Arizona and Troy is sentenced to the Wild West Show. Troy survives the Wild West Show, is targeted for execution, but escapes into Arizona with the hope of finding Taylor alive and unharmed.
In Arizona, Taylor has already fallen into the hands of TUBACHI, a murderous thug who rules Arizona. He sees women as chattel and takes delight in imposing his will upon others. Troy hooks up with the PROFESSOR, a goodhearted family man with a haunted past and ROONE, a young computer genius who has unlocked the mysteries of the Commonator and is trying to contact his beloved back in the civilized world. Together they battle Yale who is ordered into to Arizona to hunt Troy down and the ensuing battle teaches Troy about the value of friendship as well as what it really means to be free.
Somewhere in the middle of Arizona lies the fate of Troy and Taylor as well as the future of all Mankind. Will Taylor survive? Will Troy find her? And will they get their revenge on Yale and bring down his totalitarian regime?
